Twenty-One Pound Turkey
I bought a twenty-one pound turkey yesterday! I'm getting exciting for Thanksgiving. We are not having a huge crowd; nine adults and three kids. It should be fun. My dad and stepmom are coming, which is always fun. Happy Thanksgiving!
Are you making the meal?? I am a little embarrassed to say that I have never cooked a turkey!! I hope you have a good thanksgiving. We will have to get together after the holiday is over.
Yes, I am making the main part (turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, and yams), and people are bringing some side dishes and desserts. I've done it for years, so it's not a big deal. I actually enjoy it! (except for the cleaning up afterwards part... blah!)
I was proud of myself this year that I kept the dishes done as we cooked. When the meal was over the dishwasher was empty and ready to be loaded. Our kitchen was spotless by mid afternoon. Of course it helped that it was just our family and one other couple that came over. The other couple also cooked half of the meal at their house and brought it.
How did the dinner go? I've been waiting for a post on it! How goes the Christmas preparations? Post some pics of what you've done with your house. I bet it's awesome--you are so good with that kind of stuff!
